Life without technology

Imagine how your life would change without access to a computer or cell phone for a month? Descibe the process of writing a research paper without the internet.

Without a cell phone or a computer my life would be completely different. Pretty much all day everyday i use both of these things. I would have no way of getting in touch with anyone. I would have to go back to walking around and running into people to do things like when I was a child. When I was out I would have no idea what time it was or what the date is. The thing that would hurt the most would be falling behind on school work. This class is all about using computers if I didnt have one i would fail the subject. A research paper would be at least 20 times harder. I would spend hours and hours actually looking through books and seriously making note cards for a class. I don't think i would be able to actually ever really write a paper if I had to do it without the computer it would deffiantly kill me.

Jim,
When I wrote my blog, I forgot about a research paper I had to write in high school. When you mentioned note cards I was reminded of how we were required to make note cards before we began our drafts. Many of our sources had to vary, and not all of them could come from the internet. Because we had a librarian who essentially did the researching for us (she found at least two books for each persons' topic) it wasn't too hard to make note cards. However, if she did not do that, or if we couldn't use the internet at all, writing that paper would have been ridiculously hard. I also think that falling behind in schoolwork would be a valid concern because of the time demands.

It would be about 20x harder to write out a research paper by hand and it would be very easy to fall behind; I completely agree with that. And I also have an issue with not knowing the date if I can't pull out my phone and check. Though brief, you formulated your thoughts well. Good job.
