In your opinion, what technology tools should we be teaching students today?
What expectations should we have of students and what should be done to help students meet those expectations?
Were your schools stuck in the 20th century?
What was most compelling about the article?
Since I moved into Mt. Olive my classrooms were always up to date. They at least had one computer in all of them each teacher only took a little time with each of us to teach us how to use them. By the time I got to high school we had 3 computer labs with at least 30 computers and 2 computers in every classroom. My schools were out of the 20th century before y2k ever hit. Now computers are part of everyday life most people can not go a day without using it. Students by the time they reach high school should have a strong knowledge of the computer. How they should meet these expectations is by teaching to use the internet should be taught along with how to read and do basic math. Just like these subjects are taught every year until graduation just like a computer class should be too. What I noticed from the article was that 86 percent of teachers say that the computer affects their daily teaching. By the time I get into that classroom teaching it could be 100 percent of all teachers.

Your high school had to be pretty big to have that many computer labs. Good post.
